Mouhame keeps your clients' files in your office and reads Lebanese law on your own server. Every answer cites the article it stands on, and nothing you write is ever sent to a cloud.
Most legal AI products send your documents to a server you have never seen. Mouhame is installed on a machine in your office, and your browser reaches it through an encrypted tunnel. The app, the database and the language models are all behind your own door.
A cloud tool: the file is uploaded to the vendor, stored there and read by their model on their hardware.
Then a second hop: most cloud legal tools do not run their own model, they call OpenAI, Anthropic or Google. A Lebanese client's file now sits with a second company abroad, under that company's terms, which may allow it to be kept and used to improve their models.
Mouhame: the file is read, embedded and reasoned about on your server. The tunnel carries only the encrypted page between you and it.
What does leave: requests to public legal sources (the Official Gazette, LegiLiban, the courts' sites) when you search them, and a daily licence check. Never a client file, a question or a draft.
Mouhame replaced a firm's own legacy tools, so it covers what a Lebanese office actually does in a day.

Stephanie reads the file, finds the governing law and drafts in your firm's voice. She runs on your hardware and cites only what she was handed.
She reads case files, searches the corpus and the Official Gazette, looks up lawyers, courts, notaries and experts, queries your own data for charts, and runs the nine-stage case analysis in the background.
Retrieved provisions get short ids. Stages may only cite those ids; anything the model invents is dropped and reported as a gap, and every quoted span must appear in the cited text.

Five services start on a PC or small server in your office: the app, the PostgreSQL database with vector search, the AI server, the tunnel and the updater. 8 GB of RAM is enough to begin; a GPU makes the assistant faster.
Your team opens yourfirm.mouhame.com from the office, from home or from the courthouse. The connection is a Cloudflare Tunnel: encrypted end to end, no port opened on your network.
New versions arrive automatically, with a countdown you can postpone. A daily licence check is the only regular call home, and it carries no firm data.
A PC or small server with 8 GB of RAM runs the practice-management side comfortably. For the assistant, a machine with a modern GPU (16 GB of video memory) keeps answers in seconds; without one, the models run on the CPU, slower but just as private.
Requests to public legal sources when you search them, and a daily licence check. Client files, questions to the assistant, drafts and your database never leave. There is no cloud AI provider anywhere in the product.
Inside the office, yes: the app and the assistant run locally. Remote access through the tunnel, Official Gazette searches and updates need a connection.

Mouhame was built by migrating a firm's Sybase archive from 2000 onwards — cases, clients, financials and scanned documents. We do the same for yours.
